The first time I was in a TV studio I was enchanted by the dazzling lights, the multicolours panels and …. by make-up artists, prompts, hunchbacks, and a thousand other artefacts that are committed to making true what is so fake.
Naively, I was convinced that the quiz I was taking part to with my class was an educational and fun idea to learn something new. But just before the red light marked the REC, a producer (who was then called “director’s slave”) came to give me the answers.
Not the questions, the answers !!!!
Even today I persist outraged!
First of all because I would have known the answers by myself!
Secondly because it was all a scam!
My team had to win because “more telegenic” than the adversary.
That’s all.
No worth.
My support of a spectator was entirely superfluous, indeed, ridiculous, thinking about it, since everything was already decided, all done.
It was then, at the age of nine, that I realized that the TV had nothing to do with the theatre, in which I had seen people perform reality, on television the fiction was recited.
And so bad by the way.
Since then I have been in programs of various types and different channels, and it was always like that one: all is prepared and packaged, completely fake.
I still know some naive people who believe that TV always tells the truth, they are few, but there are some. A larger category is those who trust that TV sometimes tells the truth.
These people make me tend a little. And a little they make me angry.
However, zapping in a boring summer night in which, between mosquitoes and sweat, I could not sleep, I ended up by chance watching a TV series that reveals without compromise all the lies, stratagems, nastiness that are in a production of a show, expressly the so-called “reality”, and I was fascinated, enchanted.
When the programme ended, I remained sleepless, but instead of turning around in my bed, I got up, I prepared the pancakes *, and I switched on the computer to find the brilliant TV series, unReal[1].
Needless to say it, I finished it that night!
Luckily, two more seasons are in production, as intriguing as the first one. Why to watch the show? First of all, to open your eyes, if you have not done it yet, on everything that tv offers us every day …. This TV series is an unequivocally ingenious look behind the scenes of everything pretending to be true!
Producer Rachel Goldberg returns to Everlasting, a popular dating show, after a breakdown. With a reputation to rebuild and the executive producer Quinn King breathing down her neck, Rachel must pull out all the stops in what she does best: manipulating the contestants to create the outrageous drama that viewers expect.[2]
And then for the cast!
Shiri Appleby finally in a role that does not make her look like a porcelain doll; Constance Zimmer, a multifaceted and charismatic actress; and then Freddie Stroma, Gentry White, Johanna Braddy and Josh Kelly, emerging but with a really high potential.
I was aware of how the producers manipulated the events, but I was still shocked to see it so uncovered, without filters. “The show must go on” despite all the problems like alcoholism and drugs, despite the abuse, even despite death.
Everything is allowed.
Everything is TV.
Because TV NEVER tells the truth!
Orange and brandy pancakes
(the recipe is my variant of the traditional pancakes)

Ingredients:
– 5 eggs
– 50 g of butter
– 25 g of sugar
-1/2 liter of milk
– 1 pinch of salt
-125 g of flour
– grated peel of 2 oranges
– 5 tablespoons of brandy
– 1 orange juice
Method
We sift the flour and then add the milk with 25g sugar, eggs and a pinch of salt
Let melt 50 g of butter and add to the mixture beat all the ingredients until you get a smooth batter Meanwhile heat a pan with a little butter then pour a small amount of batter (about 2 tablespoons or just enough to cover the base) in the pan and let cook until browned on one side then flip and cook on the other. We repeat this process until all the mixture has been used – after which we put the pancakes on a plate.
For the sauce we melt 50 gr of sugar and 50 g of butter in a pan – adding the orange peel and letting it caramelize. So we add orange juice and brandy and continue heating to reduce the sauce a little.
