This “Prophet” so admired in the show obviously does not exist even if in the legend told by J.J. Abrams there is something true; such as the real existence of Pope Alexander VI and Adolf Hitler’s obsessive passion for the occult (the Reich organized Nazi expeditions in the most remote areas of mystical Tibet). Actually Milo Rambaldi is a good story invented by the writers. The surname was inspired by the Italian Carlo Rambaldi, the special effects artist who designed the alien protagonist of the film “E.T. l’extraterrestre” (1982). “Nostravinci” was not the name used by Hitler to indicate the prophet, but a simple composition of the names of Nostradamus and Leonardo da Vinci. In the story of Alias ​​the Rambaldi mystery is the key to the story in the events of the protagonists: to remember the “Page 47” which represents Sydney as the Chosen One who must follow Rambaldi’s word …….

The plot immediately persuaded me, “Alias[1]” tells the story of Sidney Bristow (played by Jennifer Garner), a college student, who is offered a job within a section of the CIA, which she accepts, and that makes it operational in a very short time. “Motore, Trasformazione…. Azione!”

Il numero 47, ha un legame importantissimo con Alias e in moltissimi episodi lo si vede apparire o in modo esplicito oppure nascosto in mezzo ad altri numeri. Il 47 inoltre si nasconde anche in mezzo ad altre ricorrenze: Il numero atomico dell’argento è 47e cercando delle iniziali che corrispondano alla sua abbreviazione “AG” troviamo riscontro in Allison Georgia Doren, il duplicato di Francie.
Se si sommano le parole dei titoli originali (in inglese) della seconda stagione si ottiene il numero 48 molto vicino al numero 47.
Se inoltre prendiamo ad esempio “The Telling” titolo originale dell’episodio “Il Dire” unendo le due parole si ottiene il numero 47.
Sommando le lettere dei nomi Sydney Bristow, Michael Vaughn, Jack Bristow e Marcus Dixon si ottiene il numero 47.

Molto prima di LOST, JJ Abrams aveva sfornato già ben due capolavori un po’ meno conosciuti, il drama-comedy Felicity e, quasi con lo stesso cast, la spy story ALIAS[1].

La trama mi ha subito convinto, “Alias”, racconta le vicende di Sidney Bristow (interpretata da Jennifer Garner), studentessa al college, alla quale viene offerto un lavoro all’interno di una sezione della CIA, che lei accetta, e che la fa diventare nel giro di pochissimo tempo operativa. Dopo qualche tempo, e qualche missione, Sydney scopre che all’interno della sezione lavora anche il padre, Jack Bristow (interpretato da Victor Garber), con il quale non è mai riuscita ad instaurare un vero e proprio rapporto padre – figlia…

Ma non è tutto, a quanto pare la sezione di cui fa parte, l’SD-6 non sia esattamente dalla parte dei buoni… quale è la verità? E chi la conosce?

It especially fascinates me when the powers of these supernatural beings come not from distant planets or nuclear radiation, nor from animals or poisons, but from themselves. From evolution. From that 70% of our brain that we do not use and that perhaps, who knows, could hold the key to transformation.

Okonomiyaki
(the recipe is taken from an Expo2015 cookbook)

Ingredients for 2 Okonomiyaki

For the dough:

– 300 grams Flour
– 2 eggs
– 400ml of water
– Head cabbage to taste
– Bulldog sauce
– Prepared for Okonomiyaki

For the dressing

“Okonomi” means “whatever you want”, and that’s why we can indulge ourselves when we prepare this dish, trying new versions for each new episode! It is an excellent dish to help us empty the refrigerator.
For a fish-based okonomiyaki we will use cuttlefish, shrimp and octopus, while if we want to make a meat-based okonomiyaki we will use beef carpaccio and pork belly.
Just before serving the okonomiyaki, add some tonkatsu sauce.

Preparation:

We mix the flour with water, clean the cabbages, cut them very finely and add them to the dough, then add all the other ingredients cut into small pieces.

Ho sempre amato i supereroi, l’idea che ci siano persone straordinarie in grado di fare cose indicibili per il resto dell’umanità. Mi affascina soprattutto quando i poteri di questi esseri sovrannaturali non vengono da pianeti lontani o radiazioni nucleari, né da animali o veleni, ma da loro stessi. Dall’evoluzione. Da quel 70% del nostro cervello che non utilizziamo e che forse, chissà, potrebbe contenere la chiave per la trasformazione.

(la ricetta è presa come spunto da un ricettario di Expo2015 e personalizzata da me)

 

 

Ingredienti per 2 Okonomiyaki

Per l’impasto:
– 300 grammi Farina
– 2 Uova
– 400ml di acqua
– Cavolo cappuccio q.b.
– Salsa Bulldog
– Preparato per Okonomiyaki

Per il condimento

“Okonomi” significa “quello che vuoi“, ed è per questo che possiamo sbizzarrirci quando prepariamo questo piatto, provando nuove versioni per ogni nuova puntata! E’ un ottimo piatto per aiutarci a svuotare il frigorifero.
Per un okonomiyaki a base di pesce utilizzeremo seppie, gamberetti e polipo, mentre se desideriamo fare un okonomiyaki a base di carne impiegheremo carpaccio di manzo e pancetta di maiale.
Poco prima di servire l’okonomiyaki aggiungiamo della salsa tonkatsu.

Preparazione:

Impastiamo la farina con l’acqua, puliamo i cavoli, li tagliamo molto fini e li aggiungiamo all’impasto, successivamente immettiamo tutti gli altri ingredienti tagliati…

Correva l’anno 2012 e il mondo, come previsto dai Maya secoli prima, affrontava uno dei suoi cambiamenti più epocali, era infatti l’anno in cui “The Avengers”, film che noi nerd aspettavamo fin dalla scena post-credit di Iron Man, nel 2008, riuscì finalmente ad operare il grande miracolo: rendere i film di supereroi, e la cultura nerd di rimando, fighi.

Fu una vera rivoluzione culturale, non solo perché da allora il box office è militarmente occupato da una masnada di tizi in costume, tanto da spingere la Warner Bross a rovinare per sempre la reputazione di Superman, ma anche perché per i lettori di fumetti significava finalmente uscire dai bunker e poter parlare delle proprie passioni anche con le storiche nemiche del genere, le ragazze.

Classics: “And then there were none”

In the original UK novel all references to “Indians” or “Soldiers” were originally “Nigger”, including the island’s name, the pivotal rhyme found by the visitors, and the ten figurines. (In Chapter 7, Vera Claythorne becomes semi-hysterical at the mention by Miss Brent of “our black brothers”, which is understandable only in the context of the original name.) UK editions changed to the current definitive title in 1985. The word “nigger” was already racially offensive in the United States by the start of the 20th century, and therefore the book’s first US edition and first serialization changed the title to And Then There Were None and removed all references to the word from the book, as did the 1945 motion picture.

But it is time that the purists open their eyes and realise that if it is the most widely read genre in the world there will be a reason, and that if they do not believe their contemporaries should admit that this little Christie’s masterpiece has nothing to be envied to today’s thrillers and noir, indeed it should be taken as an example because in its simplicity and continuous suspense is truly a hypnotic and splendid book, but it is in fact a classic given the vastness of reworkings, re-releases, re-editions and quotes!
