Personally, on days too busy to go to the beach and really too hot to even go out and run to the pool, I shoot the fan at speed 3, put my feet in a basin of water and salt, in one hand junk food and ice-cold beer, and remote control in the other for a Shameless marathon.

I must admit that the first time I watched this TV series I felt very uncomfortable and I couldn’t even finish the episode, in about fifteen minutes I witnessed violent scenes, explicit sex and a cacophonic language to say the least. .

Non c’è dubbio che questa è una di quelle serie tv che o si amano o si odiano, non ci sono vie di mezzo, o ci si appassiona ai drammi della famiglia Gallagher e dei loro strampalati vicini, si impara a ridere con loro e a trovare soluzioni bizzarre ad ogni problema; oppure si spegne d’impulso la tv sentendo addosso una sensazione di imbarazzo latente.

Agosto è uno di quei mesi in cui se vivi in città rischi di impazzire. O sei fortunato e te ne vai in vacanza, o sei meno fortunato e lavori ma almeno ti tieni impegnato nelle ore più calde della giornata, oppure sei proprio sfigato e pur avendo le ferie sei costretto a passarle in città fra afa e canto delle cicale.
Agosto è quel mese così caldo che qualsiasi metodo è accettabile per rinfrescarsi: perfino fare la ice-challenge….

o una sua variante più casalinga…

Personalmente, nelle giornate troppo trafficate per andare al mare e veramente troppo calde perfino per uscire e correre in piscina, mi sparo il ventilatore a velocità 3, infilo i piedi in una bacinella di acqua e sale, cibo spazzatura su un vassoio vicino, birra ghiacciata in una mano, e telecomando nell’altra per una maratona di Shameless.

Devo ammettere che la prima volta che ho beccato…
